Bulgaria: There has been no recorded case of coronavirus, Dr. Mutafchiiski says

There has been no recorded case of coronavirus in Bulgaria. Samples of all patients with flu-like symptoms are negative, said Task Force chief for the coronavirus Dr. Ventsislav Mutafchiiski at the regular briefing at the Military Medical Academy on Friday morning.

Six people with high fever and cough were admitted to the hospital’s infective ward for 24 hours.

Checks for coronavirus are carried out in four laboratories – in Stara Zagora, in Varna, in the National Reference Laboratory and in the Military Medical Academy, Mutafchiiski said.

The ability to receive patients in specially designed wards for infectious diseases has been around for a long time, so the hospital has begun directing patients with flu-related symptoms to other hospitals, the Task Force chief said.

Today there will be repeated tests of patients found negative in the first samples.

In case of a negative result they will be recorded. Five people are expected to be subjected to the second test today./ibna
