Bulgaria: Neno Dimov’s custody extended to 72 hours-Charges include deliberate mismanagement

Prosecutors accuse Neno Dimov of deliberate mismanagement in his capacity as Minister of Environment and Water, according to BGNES. Prosecutors found that the Minister of Environment and Water, in violation of the Water Act, allowed the use of the waters of the Studena Dam for industrial use, while knowing that stocks were drastically reduced.

From the data collected so far, there is good evidence of deliberate mismanagement on the part of Neno Dimov.

The Minister for the Environment and Water had been informed by the end of 2018 about the Stoudena Dam’s water level and the decline in the volume of water reserves, but continued to supply quantities to industrial businesses, noted Supervisor Angel Konev. According to the prosecutor’s office, all the allegations have been verified, and that is why Dimov remains in custody. /ibna
