Bulgaria: “Golden Passports” to be abolished

Minister of Justice Desislava Ahladova informed the European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders that Bulgaria has taken legislative measures to abolish the process of obtaining Bulgarian citizenship in return for investment. The necessary amendments to the law on Bulgarian citizenship have been submitted to parliament, Ahladova said.

The Minister of Justice met with the Ambassador of Denmark in Sofia Soren Jacobsen. The two discussed judicial reform in Bulgaria. Regarding the findings for Bulgaria in the European Commission’s report on the rule of law, Ambassador Jacobsen said that the country is growing in the right direction and has made great progress, the Bulgarian Ministry announced. /ibna
