The constitutional decision answers all our questions. I’m happy. It became clear that the prosecution complied with the law. The manner in which the constitutional decision will be implemented will be decided by the respective prosecutors in the individual cases, said Attorney General Ivan Geshev, commenting on the decision of the Constitutional Court.
According to the decision of the Court, the current President and the Vice President of the country can be investigated but no charges can be brought against them.
Geshev, who is currently in Yambol, where a special police operation is being carried out on one of Bulgaria’s largest and most modern drug labs, said the myth of the almighty and uncontrollable Attorney General had collapsed and called on the media to read the Constitutional Court’s ruling.
Asked by Geshev about the ongoing 23-day anti-government protests, where one of the main demands is his personal resignation, the Attorney General said he does not comment on political issues. /ibna
