Leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha has followed the discussions of the European Parliament Foreign Committee on Albania.
During this visit, Basha was received by several right wing MEPs, while also meeting the social democrat rapporteur, Knut Fleckenstein before the start of the hearing.
“My presence in the European Parliament relates to the discussion of this important topic. Elections are today the most important issue of Albanian democracy. The failure to organize free elections is a fatal blow for democracy. I have had meetings with MEPs, representatives of other European institutions and representatives of the European People’s Party. Situation in Albania is considered dramatic”, Basha declared.
During his meetings with MEPs, the opposition leader has also discussed the issue of decriminalization and reform in the justice system, mentioning the case of the socialist MP, Prenga. /ibna/
