German MEP, Knut Fleckenstein has arrived to Tirana where he is holding meetings with political leaders and senior state officials.
Fleckenstein said that his mission to Tirana is not to negotiate between the government and opposition, but to discuss with the sides for the process of the integration of Albania.
The MEP said that “I will speak to Mr. Basha, but I will not play the role of the negotiator”.
Asked about the protest of the opposition and parliamentary boycott, he said that it would be better if MPs did their job in parliament.
Mr. Fleckenstein’s meetings in Tirana come at a time when the opposition has set up a tent in front of the Council of Ministers’ building and Parliament. It demands the creation of a technical government as a guarantee for the holding of free and fair elections on 18 June. /balkaneu.com/
