Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci and his Serb counterpart have come out of their meeting in Brussels with a smile on their faces. They have agreed in principle, while in the days to come, they’re expected to sign an agreement on the domain of the functioning of the justice system.
This was confirmed by the prime minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci on Wednesday evening, while issuing some details: “We just finished the meeting in Brussels. We discussed on all aspects of the implementation of the April 19 Agreement in the domain of justice. The scope of this meeting and the previous ones relating to this domain, was the integration and functioning of the law and order institutions in the north of Kosovo. In the framework of dialogue, we have solved issues that relate to the justice system, laws applied in Kosovo, institutional hierarchies and the structure provided by the law for courts and prosecution. These harmonized solutions guarantee a modern and democratic functioning of the justice institutions, modern standards in dealing with issues and an equal treatment in the justice system for all the citizens of Kosovo, in particular those who fall under the jurisdiction of the court and prosecution of Mitrovica. All these topics have been discussed today and in a few days, the agreement is expected to be finalized”, said Mr. Thaci.
Ambassador Jacobson expressed her optimism

“I’m hoping for good news from today’s meeting in the framework of the talks between Kosovo and Serbia, especially in the domain of the integration of the judicial system”, declared ambassador Jacobson.
