Employment in the Broad Public Sector for the 3rd quarter of 2017 was 65.809 persons, while employment in General Government was 59780 and in the Publicly Owned Enterprises and Companies was 6029, according to data from CyStat.
More specifically, in the General Government were employed, 50547 persons in Government, 4971 persons in Non-Profit Organisations and 4262 in Local Authorities (3142 in Municipalities and 1120 in other Local Authorities).
Employment in the Broad Public Sector increased by 2462 persons (3.89%) compared to the same quarter of 2016. The employment in Central Government increased by 2433 persons (4.58%) and in Publicly Owned Enterprises and Companies by 50 persons (0.84%).
Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2017, the employment in the Broad Public Sector decreased by 1189 persons (-1.77%).
