Premier of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa has received a telegram from the British Prime Minister, David Cameron, which says that the progress and the stability in the Balkan are important for United Kingdom.

“I’d like to congratulate you on the election as prime minister of Kosovo. I’m proud of the strong ties between United Kingdom and Kosovo and I look forward to collaborating with you”, reads the telegram.

Through this telegram, the British PM demands to his Kosovo counterpart to strongly engage in the fight against corruption and the rule of law.

“You have entered this office in a crucial time for the development of Kosovo and you and your governing coalition have the full support of the United Kingdom in order to push the necessary reforms forward and boost economic development. Transparency and accountability will be the main pillars of this development, therefore I encourage you to focus on issues of the rule of law, including fight against corruption and support for public institution”, reads the telegram.

Cameron also declared that the progress and stability in the Balkan are important for the United Kingdom.

“As you know, United Kingdom is an old supporter of the independence, territorial integrity and Euro Atlantic aspirations of Kosovo. Progress and stability in the Balkan remain important for the United Kingdom. Of course, normalization of relations with Serbia will remain a priority and I invite you to make sure that Kosovo evolves as a state where the rights of all communities are respected”, ends the telegram. /ibna/
