More than 20,000 people gathered Sunday in Syntagma Square, calling for a “breath of dignity” and protesting against austerity. Concentrations of support to Greek positions were held in many cities, both in Greece and abroad.
A new rally has been set for today, Monday, at 17:00 pm, the day of the critical Eurogroup.
This rally was greater than the previous one that took place the day of the Eurogroup of February 11, at which about 15,000 citizens gathered.
In Constitution Square, as in previous rallies, there were no railings and police forces.
Among the protesters were some with political inspired carnival costumes and turned to a theatrical event, with Alexis Tsipras as the main theme, battling against austerity and debt.
Apart from Athens, rallies were held in the afternoon in Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Volos, Patras, Corfu, Lesvos and many other cities.
Rallies of solidarity to the Greeks were held in major cities abroad, such as Berlin, Belgrade, Brussels, Luxembourg, Paris, London, Lisbon, Nicosia and Amsterdam.
