By about EUR 1.04 billion increased the deposits of households and enterprises in banks in June.
Specifically, according to the Bank of Greece, household and business deposits stood at the end of June to EUR 122.7 billion from EUR 121.7 billion at the end of May.
At the beginning of the year deposits ranged to EUR 123.37 billion and a year ago (June 2015) amounted to EUR 122.3 bn.
AMNA had noted in 19/07, citing domestic banking sources, that “the increase of deposits in Greek banks since the beginning of the year is dramatic. The sources of the Agency report that until May 2015 deposits amounting 4.5 to 5 billion euro had left Greece. Today, capitals amounting to about 4 billion euro have returned, with the help of tourism”.
