The head of Kosovo Football Association (KFA), accompanied by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Memli Krasniqi and secretary of KFA, Eroll Sallihu, have met today with the president of FIFA, Sepp Blatter.
In this meeting, the delegation of Kosovo has submitted to the head of FIFA the full paperwork in order to reapply for FIFA accession.
It’s our right to be an equal part of international football competitions.
This was said today by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Memli Krasniqi during the meeting with Mr. Blatter.
Mr. Krasniqi thanked Mr. Blatter for the great help that he has given so far in advancing Kosovo’s football and allowing international friendly matches.
Along with the delegation, he informed Mr. Blatter on the progress of friendly matches that Kosovo has had so far, through which the country has shown great passion for football and KFA has shown great quality in organizing matches, by respecting diversity and fair play.
Minister Krasniqi said that the fact that Kosovo is not allowed to participate in official competitions, has caused great challenges in the development of football in the country.
Meanwhile, FIFA president, Sepp Blatter has confirmed to the delegation from Kosovo about his support and FIFA support, by saying that once KFA is accepted by UEFA, FIFA will soon follow it.
“Unfortunately, there are still legal obstacles to be accepted by UEFA, but I hope that you will manage to overcome these obstacles, in order for the football players of Kosovo to be able to play in the international arena”, declared Blatter. /ibna/
