Two strong blasts have taken place last night near police stations in Tetovo and Kumanovo. The Ministry of Interior Affairs said that the first blast took place around 8 pm near Tetovo’s police station, while the second one occurred around 10 pm near Kumanovo’s police station.
Authorities say that in both cases, it was a hand grenade that caused the blast.
Ministry of Interior issued a press statement by saying that blasts have been heard near the police stations, but rumors that police stations have been the target of these attacks have been denied.
“Explosions near the police stations have been heard. No damages have been registered. I cannot provide further information until all inquiries are made”, said the spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, Ivo Kotevski.
On the other hand, pro government Macedonian media have reported that Albanian media are trying to provoke tension through their reports. A part of Albanian media have reported that “police stations in Tetovo and Kumanovo have been attacked”.
Growing police forces have been concentrated in these areas following these two blasts. /ibna/
