Bipartisan debate on the Cyprus problem to take place in Nicosia in February

The situation in the Cyprus problem will examine, in a multi-day meeting in February, Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades and the leaders of political parties, was decided in the meeting on Monday.

According to the government spokesperson, Anastasiades tabled a document with his intention to form a broad-based government, and the heads of parliamentary parties have agreed to submit their views in writing.

AKEL asked from Anastasiades to take steps to resume talks, said Secretary General of the party Andros Kyprianou. Kyprianou expressed the concern of his party for the fact that the situation as it stands, is becoming dangerous, both in regard to the Republic of Cyprus to exploit its natural wealth, and to the possibility of a definite dichotomy.

The need for a change in strategy in the Cyprus matter, and at the simultaneous safeguard of the interests of the Republic of Cyprus referred the president of the Democratic Party Nicolas Papadopoulos.

Along the same lines was the placement of the President of EDEK Yiannakis Omirou.
