The Slavic Cultural Centre Banja Luka is organizing a music competition in Banja Luka on Friday, and the winner will participate as a BiH representative at the festival “Slavic Bazaar” in Vitebsk, Belarus.
As of this year, the partner of “Slavjanski Bazaar” in BiH is the Slavic Cultural Centre, which was just established a few months ago.
“We aim to bring the culture of Banja Luka, Republika Srpska and BiH closer to Slavdom because we are all Slavic nations. That is why we decided to organize the first qualifying competition for participation in this renowned festival, which is being held for the 29th time,” the president of the Slavic Cultural Centre, Nikola Deretić, has said.
Twenty eight candidates applied for the competition, 11 of them for children’s song and 17 in the category of young pop music performers. The jury will select the best performers who will travel to Vitebsk.
The festival “Slavic Bazaar” is held under the auspices of the President of Belarus. The aim of the Festival is to discover new talents, which significantly strengthens the international ties between the Slavic peoples.
On the first day of the Festival, the contestants perform a song in their own or one of the Slavic languages and on the second day some of the world hits.
