A delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of BiH, led by the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH, Colonel General Senad Mašović, from 17 to 20 August 2021, attends the International Defence Industry Fair “IDEF 2021” in Istanbul.
“On that occasion, the MoD and AF BiH delegation visited a large number of exhibitors at the Fair, and was introduced to a wide range of defence products and equipment used in the armed forces around the world, including land vehicles, drones, weapons, simulators, radars, aircraft systems, missiles, logistics vehicles, as well as system security equipment,” the BiH Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
Also, members of the delegation had the opportunity to attend presentations of a number of companies engaged in production in this area, especially well-known companies of the Turkish defence industry – ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN, YDS, BMC, NUROL, OTOKAR, FNSS, as well as TAI, where have been convinced of the advanced development technologies of these companies.
During the visit of the delegation of the MoD and AF BiH to the International Fair of Dedicated Industry IDEF-2021, a meeting was held with a senior military delegation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkey led by the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Turkey General Yaşar Güler. The two delegations discussed the improvement of cooperation in the coming period, as well as support to the BiH Armed Forces in modernization and continuous capacity building, with the aim of reaching the planned level of interoperability and capabilities.
During his visit to this very important event in the world of purpose-built industry, the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH, Colonel General Senad Mašović, participated in other activities.
In addition to General Mašović, the delegation of the MoD and AF BiH also includes BiH Assistant Minister of Defence for Procurement and Logistics Borislav Jezeraškić, BiH Military Attaché to Turkey Brigadier Željko Drljača and NZS AF BiH personal assistant Colonel Asmir Sarajlić.
