Berlin Conference for a joint European perspective of the Balkan

The joint European perspective will gather leaders of Western Balkan. The conference will take place on Thursday in Berlin and is hosted by the German chancellor, Angela Merkel.

For this reason, the German embassy will hold today an informative meeting concerning the Berlin conference. Present in this conference will also be acting prime minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci and prime minister of Albania, Edi Rama, who is expected to close the meeting with a speech addressed to the prime ministers, foreign ministers and economy ministers of Western Balkan.

Meanwhile, the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel has revealed the motives for launching such incentives. According to her, on the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War, it’s time to give shape to the future, overcoming the bitter memories belonging to the past.

Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj says that the implementation of the agreement reached last year between Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels will be discussed in Berlin.

“Of course, this conference will also discuss about relations between Kosovo and Serbia and the implementation of the Brussels Agreement”, declared the Kosovar diplomat.

Representatives of the two countries, Kosovo and Serbia have been exchanging accusations for the failure to implement the Brussels agreement.

The most recent case related to the so called “Peace park” on the Iber river bridge in Mitrovica.

The Berlin Conference is expected to discuss issues of cooperation between the countries of the region, different infrastructural projects, investment opportunities and the construction of the road that will link Croatia, Montenegro, Albania and several other countries. /ibna/
