Tirana, May 2, 2013-The vote of emigrants is being hindered by the opposition. This was declared today in the government meeting by Prime Minister Berisha and according to him, the head of the opposition is scared of their vote.
“The fact that emigrants will not vote has no other cause but the fear that the head of the opposition has from their vote”, said Berisha by adding that “the government has been and is ready to offer to emigrants the opportunity to vote online, in order for this obligation, which is met by all countries, to be met by Albania too”.
According to the Prime Minister, the government is ready to engage and introduce any technology of high security which exists in order for the vote of every citizen to have the importance that it deserves. “Unfortunately, this is not accepted by the opposition, the same as for the voting of 16 year olds, who have started to vote in countries which have an older population than ours. We must open the doors to 16 year olds. What has happened is painful, because their likes on my Facebook have turned the vote of 16 year olds into the nightmare of the opposition. They can work, but they cannot vote. They can be employed, pay all taxes and this is discrimination. Let us hope that these are the last blockades caused by the opposition. June 23 is a special date for Albania”, said Prime Minister Sali Berisha during the government meeting on the issue of the elections. /ibna/
