While Kosovo’s officials have promoted the idea for the involvement of the US in the negotiations with Serbia, Russia is also expected to be involved in these talks.
If the format of dialogue changes, then Belgrade would demand Russia’s involvement in the talks in order to counterbalance the interests of Albanians.
Moscow will continue to support Belgrade when it comes to Kosovo and Moscow’s involvement in the dialogue will be one of the main topics of discussions between the Serb president, Aleksandar Vucic and the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, who will visit Belgrade in November this year.
“Vucic and Putin will certainly discuss about Kosovo. There’s also a chance that Russia may be involved in the negotiations. Of course, Belgrade will not agree to Washington being the only player in these talks. The Serb authorities will also insist for the Russian representative to participate in these talks in order to prevent any decision which does not favour us”, said political analyst, Dragomir Andjelkovic.
Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj said that the involvement of the US may enable a final solution between the two countries. /ibna/
