Basha: February 20 is a day of respect for all those Albanians who overcame the fear of communism

The leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, recalled that today, February 20, 1991, is the day Albanians rose and tore down the bust of dictator Enver Hoxha; Europe’s last communist symbol.

“February 20 is the day to be remembered with respect for all those students and citizens who destroyed the last communist symbol in Europe, tearing down the dictator’s statue”, Basha said.

“Today, we proudly defend all those Albanians who overcame the fear of communism on February 20”, he added

Basha noted that “February 20 is the day of power and courage, and the first step in serving a free and democratic Albania. Because every Albanian, just like 29 years ago today, still has one main goal: to make Albania like Europe”./ibna
