With many symbolic moves the Tsipras government shows the will to improve the relations between the government and the people. Since 2013, railings had been placed to the Unknown Soldier monument for the protection of the House from the protesters.

Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection, Giannis Panousis, realised the commitment to remove the obstacles.

So, they removed, on Tuesday morning, the bars which were placed at the Syntagma Square, in front of the Monument of the “Unknown Soldier”; an act, which was announced earlier the same morning, by the Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection Yannis Panousis.

“The House fears the people?”, Panousis stressed, to add:

“The symbolism of a Left government is necessary. We must show that we are not afraid of the people and, as such, remove them immediately”.
