High Representative of the EU’s Foreign Policy and Security, Catherine Ashton, starts on Monday a brief Balkan tour with meetings in Montenegro, Albania and FYR Macedonia.
The aim of the tour, declared Baroness Ashton, to confirm the European perspective of the countries of the region.
Ashton starts talks on Monday in Podgorica, while later she will head for Tirana and Skopje, says a statement released by her office.
“I will be travelling to the Western Balkans to reinforce the European perspective of the region, I will encourage the leaders of the region to continue the reform process and to promoted good neighborly relations,” stated Ashton ahead of her Balkan tour. /ibna/
