Barbados recognizes Kosovo’s independence

Barbados, an island state in the East of the Caribbean has announced on Thursday its decision to recognize Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state.

The news was confirmed by deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo and Foreign minister, Behgjet Pacolli. Pacolli published a letter that Kosovo’s Foreign Ministry has received from the Foreign Ministry of Barbados, where the recognition of Kosovo is confirmed.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo and has the honour to refer to previous requests by the latter for the Government of Barbados to recognise Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state and for the establishment of relations between Barbados and Kosovo. The Ministry as the further honour to inform that the Cabinet of Barbados has granted approval for the official recognition of Kosovo as an independent state and for the establishment of relations between the two countries. It is therefore proposed that the respective officials of Barbados and Kosovo in New York, USA, sign a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of relations between Barbados and Kosovo”, the letter from Barbados states. /balkaneu.com/
