Banks in Kosovo continue to be the most profitable sector in the country.
The latest report of the Central Bank of Kosovo says that during the first half of the year, banking revenues amounted to 119.7 million euros, while last year, during the same period, they were 113.7 million euros.
During this period of time, the value of loans has increased by 10% to 2.3 billion euros, while the value of deposits has grown by 7.2% to 2.8 billion euros.
The data of the Central Bank of Kosovo also indicate that average interest rates on loans have fallen to 6.8%.
Also, interest rates for deposits have fallen to the lowest level of 1.1%.
The Bank of Kosovo also says that 8.3 of the ownership of the banking sector is foreign, while 11.7% belongs to domestic businesses. /balkaneu.com/
