UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon has expressed his concern about the slow pace of the implementation of the agreements stemming from the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.

In the quarterly report on Kosovo, he demands from the sides involved in the talks to intensify their meetings until the full normalization between the two countries.

“Although we notice a slowdown of the implementation of the agreements between Kosovo and Serbia, especially in the past 12 months, I hope that positive steps will be taken by EU negotiators to complete the remaining steps and solve other issues in the future”, the UN Secretary General report says.

The head of the UN also demands more commitment in the promotion of tolerance and reconciliation between communities in Kosovo.

“Better conditions must be offered to minorities and those who return to Kosovo must be supported in their rights of ownership and right of religious faith”, the report says.

The report also talks about the border demarcation with Montenegro, the Association of Serb Communes and the lack of dialogue between majority and opposition.

The report will soon be discussed in the UN Security Council. /balkaneu.com/
