The film “Balcony” of the producer from Kosovo, Lendita Zeqiraj has received two awards in the 15th edition of the “Fiatcorti Film Festival” which was held in Istrana, Italy.
From this festival, “Balcony” came home with the “Fiatcorti” award and with the special recognition of “Cineambreve”, which is given to the best film of the festival by the media. The official webpage of the festival, where the names of the winners have been made public, writes that “Fiatcorti” is an international contest for short films which welcomes different producers every year in Istrana.
Bujar Kabashi from “N’Art Production” which has realized the film joint funded by the Cinematographic Center of Kosovo, said that this is the first time that this festival awards to prizes for the same film.
“Every participation in the festival and every award has its importance. Besides the artistic satisfaction and the confirmation of an excellent work by the professional jury, this time even by the media, these awards facilitate our job in promoting the art and artists of our country”, said Kabashi.
According to him, such awards are a testimony for the cinematographic values of Kosovo.
“We’re proving to the world that we have values. I hope that this will also take place in other institutions”, said Kabashi.
“Balcony” starts with the story of a 10 year old boy, who is sitting on the edge of a balcony on the fourth floor of a building. Neighbors and by passers call the police and firefighters, but the entire situation is very chaotic and requires attention to be handled. This is the first Albanian film to receive an award in the oldest international festival of film in Venice, Italy last year. /ibna/
