Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed in Istanbul the member of the Presidential Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izedbekovic.
The meeting was an important element as it was held on the yacht Savarona that belonged to the founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
The yacht after the death of Kemal Ataturk had been converted into a museum. In the 90 it had been sold to a Turkish businessman. Following revelations of sexual orgies taking place on the vessel, the Turkish government decided to buy it back to commemorate the founder of the Turkish Republic.
This is the first time Erdogan used the yacht and she did so to welcome Izedbekovic with both men cruising the waters of Bosphorus.
The Turkish president had also arranged a meeting in Savarona boat with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov, but the meeting was canceled because the Turkmen president hurriedly returned to his country due of his mother’s sudden sickness.
