Kosovar Finance Minister Hykmete Bajrami, during the briefing of the Committee on Budget and Transport, tackled the scandal of the two-million-euro embezzlement from the Public Treasury. However, the Minister of Finance added that she does not know what has happened to the rest of the amount.
Bajrami said that, so far, 560 thousand euros have been blocked in the accounts where the money was transferred. However, the Minister of Finance added that she is unaware of what has happened to the rest of the amount. “There is a blockade of 560 thousand euros in various accounts from where transactions were made, while three cars worth 60 thousand euros were confiscated. I asked for this money to be returned immediately to the state budget, but it was clarified to me that we could not return it without completing the investigation. We have the reports from the information systems from which the transfer was made; it is also known where the money has gone, and we are hoping for the money to be returned. I do not know what to do with the rest of the money. I have never contacted the prosecutor’s office, because they are aware of my responsibilities as a minister”, Bajrami said. /ibna
