Tirana, January 13, 2015/Independent Balkan News Agency
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, sends a note of protest to authorities in Tirana, following the publication of the image that you can see on this photo.
It’s the flag of Greater Albania with the symbol “Autochthonous” which appeared on a drone in the match between Serbia and Albania in Belgrade on October 14.
This image reappeared on the façade of the Albanian government building through a video projection from the government staff in the framework of the New Year’s wishes.
Mr. Dacic said that Serbia has issued a note of protest to Albania, as the “Greater Albania” flag” has appeared in the headquarter of the Albanian prime minister.
These movements from Tirana are seen as provocations from Belgrade.
“I didn’t see the flag of Greater Serbia appear on the headquarter of the Serb prime minister, but the flag of Greater Albania appeared in the headquarter of the Albanian prime minister. And we will react”, said Mr. Dacic in Belgrade.
“We respect each other, but we demand from the others to respect us too”, said he.
The senior official assured that this will not stop relations and talks between the two countries, as it was agreed in the last meetings.
“We will not do anything that will put in danger our relations with the countries of the region and Albania in particular”, said Mr. Dacic.
This start of the year, Serbia has taken over the chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. /ibna/
