The Association of Serb Communes will not be established before Serbia dismantles its parallel structures in the north of Mitrovica.
This was declared by the minister for Dialogue at the Government of Kosovo, Edita Tahiri.
According to her, the Association of Serb Communes will be in full compliance with the laws of Kosovo.
During a hearing session in front of the Parliamentary Committee for Public Administration, Local Government and Media, Tahiri has assured MPs that the Association will not manage assets and Kosovo’s natural resources.
“The Association cannot become owner of public properties in Kosovo, on a central level or a local government level”, Tahiri said.
The head of the delegation which engages in dialogue with Serbia has responded to questions addressed by MPs, who wanted to know if this dialogue has discussed the division administrative line between southern and northern Mitrovica.
“In Brussels, we have never talked about the division line between the two communes of Mitrovica”, said Tahiri.
Meanwhile, minister Tahiri has informed the members of the Committee that so far, 33 agreements have been reached between Kosovo and Serbia. She added that Kosovo is in contact with the US on all matters relating to these agreements.
Dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is being brokered by the European Union. The scope of this dialogue is normalization of relations between the two countries. /balkaneu.com/
