Arrested imams remanded 30 days into custody

Court of First Instance in Pristina has remanded today 13 terrorist suspects who were arrested a few days ago, into custody for a period of 30 days. Among them is the imam of the Great Mosque of Pristina, Shefqet Krasniqi and head of Islamic movement, LISBA, Fuad Ramiqi.

The court granted the request of the Special Prosecution according to which, there are legal grounds to remand the defendants into custody.

The imams were arrested by the police of Kosovo in a large scale operation carried out on Wednesday in several cities of the country.

The imams who were arrested are suspected of being part of terrorist groups, encouraging hate, recruiting for purposes of terrorism, money laundering and calls for resistance. /ibna/
