The plenary session of the State Council with the No. 124/2016 decision rejected the application for interim measures of the television station Mega Channel (SA “Teletypos Television Programs”) for the starting price of the auctioned four television licenses (EUR 3 million each).
Mega Channel, was directed against the 7984/2016 decision of State and Finance Ministers, with which the starting price for each of the four “auctioned licenses for digital terrestrial television broadcast free-national general information program range for high definition transmission (high definition) had been set at EUR 3 million”.
Also, today is expected to be discussed in the plenary of the Supreme Court, the applications for interim measures of TV station Alpha, Star Channel and Epsilon, for the starting price of the four auctioned television licenses.
These three channels, like Mega, stand against the no. 7984/2016 decision of State and Finance Ministers, which set at EUR 3 million the starting price for each of the four auctioned licenses.
MEGA’s eight o’clock news postponed indefinitely
Employees decided the indefinite postponement of the transmission of the main news programme of MEGA. Specifically, the general meeting decided by a majority to postpone the broadcast of the 20.00 news until the employees have been paid.
Immediately after the announcement of the decision ESHEA declared a new four-hour strike for all journalists who work in the television station and the site «megatv.com», from 18.00 to 22.00 Thursday.
