The goal of the forthcoming European Council is to reach an agreement on the Multiannual Financial Framework, while the Turkish provocations will also be discussed, the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades announced tonight.
Speaking to reporters from the French Ambassador’s home, where he attended an event at the French Embassy on the occasion of France’s national day, to a question regarding the President’s thoughts on the results of today’s EU Council of Foreign Ministers, he replied: “I have to be fully informed first – I have received a first update – and then, as you can see, there is the European Council.
Of course, the goal is to reach an agreement on the Multiannual Financial Framework, but in any case, Turkey’s provocations will also be discussed. So you need to be patient”.
In a journalist’s remark on whether they will coordinate with the Prime Minister of Greece tomorrow in view of the EU Summit, the President answered affirmatively./ibna
