US ambassador to Kosovo, Greg Delawie has expressed is criticism against opposition MPs, who prevented today’s parliamentary session from taking place, by throwing teargas.
In a news conference delivered in the parliament’s hall, Delawie said that MPs today did exactly the opposite of the messages received two weeks ago by the US State Secretary, John Kerry during his visit to Kosovo.
“Two weeks ago, Mr. Kerry said that violence must remain outside of parliament. It’s disappointing that they were heard”, the US ambassador said.
According to him, what the population in Kosovo needs are solutions about problems such as unemployment and how to get a job.
“Unfortunately, preventing parliament from functioning normally doesn’t contribute for the development of the economy”, he said.
Delawie also criticized the presence of several opposition MPs who were supposed to be on house arrest.
“There are several MPs who have been placed under house arrest. I think that Kosovo people don’t want to see them evading their legal obligations”, Delawie said. /ibna/
