Ambassador Brownback Travels to Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania

Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom Sam Brownback will travel to Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania, , November 10-19.

Ambassador Brownback will begin his trip in Belgrade, Serbia, on November 11, where he will meet with the Serbian Orthodox Patriarch His Holiness Irinej and representatives of other religious groups to discuss religious freedom issues in Serbia.

Ambassador Brownback will then travel to Srebrenica and Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on November 12, to participate in a tour of the Memorial Center and Cemetery, placing a wreath to commemorate lives lost at the site, followed by meetings with religious leaders.

On November 14, Ambassador Brownback will arrive in Pristina, Kosovo, where he will deliver remarks at a U.S. Embassy-hosted event on religious pluralism with youth from various faith communities. Ambassador Brownback will also meet with religious leaders.

Ambassador Brownback will then visit Podgorica, Montenegro, on November 15, to meet with local religious leaders.

From November 18-19, Ambassador Brownback will be in Tirana, Albania, where he will deliver remarks at the “Religion as an Instrument for Peace” conference. Albania is hosting this regional conference as a follow-on to the Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom. Ambassador Brownback will also meet with various government and religious leaders./ibna
