There’s a need for an added presence of the EU in Western Balkans, as part of a strengthened partnership in tackling joint challenges.
This was the declaration made today by the Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati during the meeting of the EU’s Foreign Ministers, which was held in Estonia and which was focused on joint challenges of security in Europe, especially in the prevention and fight against radicalism and violent extremism.
During this meeting, minister Bushati briefed the ministers on Albania’s achievements in this fight and expressed the fact that Albania has harmonized its policies with the EU, in order to address global challenges.
Furthermore, he underlined that economic development and creation of new jobs for youngsters is very important for the prevention of the expansion of extremist ideology. The Albanian chief of diplomacy stressed the need to narrow the gap in economic development between the EU countries and our region through financial instruments of the process of EU Enlargement. /balkaneu.com/
