In the second quarter of 2018, Albania’s economy grew by 4,32% as opposed to the second quarter of 2017.
This was announced today by the Albanian office for statistics, INSTAT, according to which, the group which has contributed the most for this growth is electricity and the extraction and processing industry with 2,37% of GDP.
Within this group, the biggest contribution has been made by the sale of electricity by the state owned company KESH and other operators, favoured by levels of rain fallen during the second quarter of the year.
According to experts, in the second quarter of the year, production of energy by KESH and other operators grew by 90% compared to the same period a year ago. /ibna/
