Albanians in FYROM celebrate November 28

Skopje, November 28, 2013

Albanians in FYR Macedonia are celebrating today through different manifestations the 101st anniversary of the independence of the Albanian state and the Flag Day.

Different activities have been organized in the Albanian majority communes, while November 28 has not been announced as a holiday for Albanians, although such demand has been made by Albanian political parties and associations for years in a row.

Nonetheless, Albanian communes have made this a festive day. In Skopje, Tetovo, Struga, Gostivar, Kercova, Komanovo, Diber and other communes have been held festive activities. In Skopje, Albanian students organized a festive ceremony called “March of the flag”, while literary and cultural activities will take place in “Scanderbeg” square in Skopje. /ibna/
