Albanian writer Ismail Kadare, a candidate for the Nobel Prize in literature

Albanian prominent writer, Ismail Kadare has been announced this year too, a candidate for the Nobel Prize on literature.

British specialized pages rank the Albanian writer among the 15 most favorites for 2016.

The most favorite candidate for the 2016 Nobel Prize is Japanese writer, Haruki Murakami, who for years has been considered as one of the most prominent writers.

Murakami is followed by Adonis, the Syrian poet who has been living in Paris for years. He is ranked ninth. According to the British page, he could lead over Murakami if the jury decides to give out the prize based on politics.

The Swedish Academy is expected to gather next week to decide on whom to award the Nobel Prize on literature, which will be announced in October.

Among many awards received throughout the years by Kadare, one of the most important ones is the award “Prince of Asturia” in 2009.

Meanwhile, in May 2016, the French President, Holland awarded him the title “Commander of the Legion of Honor”, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of Ismail Kadare. For nearly two decades, Kadare aspires for the Nobel Prize on literature, but this still remains a dream yet to be fulfilled. /balkaneu.com/
