Romela Begaj has resulted positive with stanozolol, which is a forbidden substance, and has been temporarily suspended. A few days ago, Romela Begaj was announced world champion in the Snatch style.

Albanian weightlifter, Romela Begaj has resulted positive in the anti-doping test. International Weightlifting Federationn announced today t he news on Begaj and the results of the anti-doping tests in the Kazakhstan world championship. “A high dosage of stanozolol was found in her blood. Romela Begaj has been temporarily suspended from all activities”, says International Weightlifting Federation on the Albanian weightlifter.

The stanozolol found in the tests carried out on the Albanian weightlifter, improves the sportive performance.

The final decision of the International Weightlifting Federation will be issued once the counter tests are carried out and once the version of our Federation is heard. In case the counter tests prove the presence of doping, Begaj risks from 2 to 4 years of suspension from weightlifting.
