Tourism has made its highest contribution in the Albanian economy last year. This is suggested by the latest official figures of the country’s agency for statistics and the Bank of Albania, according to which, the amounts that foreign tourists spent last year in Albania amounted to around 15% of GDP.
Meanwhile, in the past five years, these expenses have increased by 4.5% as percentage of GDP. On the other hand, figures suggest that the expenses that Albanians make abroad are more fluctuating. In the past three years, they ranged between 10% and 11% of the Gross Domestic Product. /ibna/
