“I’d like to say to you that what you’re seeing today in Albania is not a popular revolt”. This was declared yesterday by Prime Minister Edi Rama in an interview for Italian TV show called “Porta a Porta”. According to the head of the government, reality is completely different. “What you see in these images is only a small perimeter of Tirana”, Rama also said referring to opposition’s protests. Meanwhile, the head of the government also pointed out the reforms that the government has carried out and the fight against cannabis. For the results of this fight, PM Rama referred to reports released by Italian Guardia di Finanza. “In 2013, there were 400 thousand acres of land cultivated with cannabis. In 2018, there were only 0.8 acres”, Rama said.
Meanwhile, the government’s chief also mentioned trade and economic relations that exist between the two countries. “Today, trade volume between Albania and Italy amounts to 2.6 billion euros a year. Albania exports 1.2 billion euros worth of goods to Italy”, Prime Minister Rama said on Italian TV.
