Albania’s Foreign minister, Ditmir Bushati, in the conference dubbed “Serbs and Albanians” held on Wednesday in Tirana, criticized Serb policies by saying that this country’s “rhetoric belongs to the 19th century and it doesn’t help today’s discussions which aim at mending ties between the two countries”.
“Serb Foreign minister, Ivica Dacic has declared that Kosovo is the heart of Serbia and that Kosovars are Albanians who live outside of their fatherland. This rhetoric belongs to the 19th. Relations between Serbs and Albanians also involve Kosovo and the process of normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia cannot be replaced by good relations between Albania and Serbia”, Bushati said.
As far as relations between Serbia and Albania are concerned, Bushati said that: “Dialogue should be honest. We have many common things with Serbia and there’s a tendency to overcome stereotypes. Relations with Serbia are advancing. Our relations should overcome the obstacles of the past and there are positive signals for this”. /ibna/
