The Albanian opposition presented today the so called “anti-mafia measures”, with the aim of freeing the country’s economy from corruption and oligarchy. According to the opposition, this alternative aims at seizing public assets appropriated through unlawful contracts.
“The anti-mafia platform proposes a legal and institutional platform to identify and seize assets which have been appropriated unlawfully”, said the leader of DP, Lulzim Basha.
According to him, part of this package is also the vetting of politicians, where the battle should start in parliament, because this is the institution, which according to the opposition, legitimizes dirty money.
“Vetting of politicians is a necessity. This process should remove anyone who is incriminated”, Basha said.
Meanwhile, PM Edi Rama has reacted about this platform by saying that “our economy, finances and government have nothing to do with what the opposition describes”. /ibna/
