The Albanian national currency, lek, has registered in the past few years the strongest appreciation against the European currency, euro, as opposed to other currencies.
This is suggested by the latest data provided by the World Bank, according to which, from June 2017 until June 2018, Albanian lek strengthened by 5% against the euro and 9% against the US dollar.
Meanwhile, other currencies too in the region have strengthened in the past few years, but not in such levels.
The Serbian dinar has strengthened 2% against the euro and 7% against the US dollar.
Let us recall that the average exchange rate of lek against the euro for the year was 131.1 lek. /ibna/
