The Albanian Interior Minister demanded the support of the Counter-Terrorism Bureau, for the Counter-Terror Directorate, which has been just established at the State Police in Albania.
Mrs. Kaidanow expressed her readiness to immediately launch an intensive program for the preliminary support and for further support in this unit.
Kaidanow said that Albania has done an extraordinary job starting with criminal investigations and prosecutions and also with the legal amendments in this field.
She praised Albania’s commitment in the fight against terrorism, along with international partners.
Minister Tahiri submitted to ambassador Kaidanow his proposal for the need of joint regional efforts, as the only way to fight terrorism.
Mrs. Kaidanow backed this idea and said that there was a need to establish a regional Task force for joint investigations. Kaidanow told minister Tahiri that the US are interested on supporting focused and productive incentives for joint regional efforts. /ibna/
