On the second day of his visit to Skopje, Albanian Foreign minister, Ditmir Bushati met with his counterpart Nikola Dimitrov, after which the pair delivered a press conference.
The minister stopped on the support that Tirana is offering to Skopje in its Euro-Atlantic project. He praised the role of Albanians as a factor of stability. In this context, he called on Macedonians and Albanians living in this country to vote in favour of the referendum on September 30, considering this “an important agreement for the democratic stability of the region and our Euro-Atlantic perspective”.
The head of the Albanian diplomacy underlined that Albania is looking forward to the application of the law on language in the neighbouring country, considering it as a decisive step for the improvement of cohabitation between the two ethnic groups. Meanwhile, both governments are working for a better coordination with the European Commission as part of the “screening” process. The pair also discussed the situation in the region, dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo and relations with Greece. /ibna/
