June 2019 was not a good month for Albanian exports. The country’s office for statistics, INSTAT, reports that compared to June 2018, exports fell by 4.4%. Meanwhile, exports in June 2019 were 8.2% lower than the previous month.
Imports have also registered a drop. They have declined 1.5% compared to June the previous year and 9.6% compared to May 2019. Trade deficit in June 2019 was 28 billion lek, 1.4% more than in June 2018.
In the first half of 2019, exports amounted to 152 billion leks, 3,7% lower than a year ago, while imports amounted to 318 billion leks, up by 2,6% compared to the same period a year ago. /ibna/
