After they climbed Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Everest and Benal, 4 climbers from “Highlanders and Alpinists Tirana” association, have climbed mount Aconcagua in Argentina.
Aleksander Bojaxhi from “Highlanders and Alpinists Tirana” association confirmed for IBNA that yesterday on February 11, 2014 at 5:20 pm, the team of alpinists from the “Highlanders and Alpinists Tirana” association climbed Aconcagua peak, 6.962 meters high.
This is the highest peak of the South American continent.
Bojaxhi said that the members of the team, Erlind Rudho, Ervin Dervishi, Gerti Pishtari, Fation Plaku, Gjergj Bojaxhi have fulfilled one of the goals of world alpinisim, “The Seven Peaks”, which aims at climbing the highest peak of each of the 7 continents of the globe.
The climb for the first group of Albanian alpinists who have undertaken such incentive has been stuck in Mount Wilson in California and Carstenzs Pyramid in New Guinea, 4.884 meters high. /ibna/
