The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, in her capacity as coordinator for the humanitarian operation in aid of Afghan citizens, inspected the reception center and accommodation structures, set up specifically to receive a still undetermined number of arrivals of Afghan refugees.
Minister Xhaçka met with leaders of several structures of the Armed Forces, State Police and Border Police, and closely followed the work done at the reception center at Rinas Airport, where Afghan citizens will be given first aid, psychological / social assistance and basic food service or other possible needs. The center, equipped with medical and first aid tents has a capacity of 400 people and will serve as the first stop for passengers arriving in Albania. Then, after the respective legal modalities, they will be accompanied to the accommodation structures in Tirana or Durrës, depending on the number of people who will be temporarily housed in Albania.
Minister Xhaçka informed that the situation is being followed minute by minute in cooperation with the allies and that all measures have been taken, whenever the first plane arrives. The Minister also stopped at the accommodation structures in Tirana, which are free spaces and equipped with all living conditions for individuals or families. Afghan citizens will stay for a few weeks in these centers, to then move to several hotel facilities on the coast awaiting completion of procedures for their transfer to the final destination./ibna
